After 29 years of teaching, I’ve been reflecting on some of my favorite products. One that held up and that the kids loved was my KidCarpet rainforest classroom rug. When I taught kindergarten we would all circle around the rug while I made applesauce. When I introduced habitats we sat on the rug and talked about the rainforest habitat, it was the perfect visual for them. As my first graders began to read they loved to buddy up and lay on the rug to read together. I have had the rug for 23 years and it still looks brand new. As I pass it on to the next teacher I hope she has as many fond memories.
